MONTHY BLOG

As the leaves continue to fall, I keep seeing the same patterns in quite a few of the Syycamore leaves - lots of interesting holes! It took some time to investigate, but I finally found the culprit. I had no idea how tiny tiny they are. If a storm knocks some leaves off of a Sycamore next summer, guess who I will be looking for?

I am mesmerized by the seemingly endless varieties of fractals in nature! Put very simply, fractals are repeating patterns. When we look at fractals, it engages a part of our brain that causes relaxation. No wonder The Great Outdoors makes me feel so good! On this journal entry, I got all geeked out over the fractal patterns in leaves. I suppose part of me also wanted to engage with the leaves at a deeper level before they are all gone for the winter. I will miss them.
