It is important to take time to "play" with your watercolors. Experimenting with the amounts of water, pigment, and even salt can produce some interesting results. . .

I love to create color boxes at springs. It is great practice with the watercolors - mixing the colors and applying them to the page. It is also wonderful "therapy." I felt recharged and inspired after this journaling time despite the heat.


I felt infused with this prairie simply by observing and quickly sketching a variety of shapes that I saw. The sun was setting, so I had to work fast. A Whippoorwhil started singing and the lightning bugs lit up. It was magical, and this is an amazing way to experience it.
