Journaling at Echo Bluff and Current River State Parks

Resident Artist

June 2017

What a FABULOUS time I had working at both Echo Bluff and Current River State Parks as their Resident Artist!  Wow!  Wow!  And more Wow!  I LOVED it!

I truly enjoyed exploring these parks deep in the Ozarks of Missouri and journaling my discoveries.   I also enjoyed sharing the concept of Nature Journaling with the visitors.  It was so rewarding to open up new doors and possibilities for them.

One lady that I met said that when she came to explore parks such as these, she needed more of a take away than just photographs - and that Nature Journaling was what she was looking for.   She was excited at the prospect of recording her experiences with both pictures and words.

Another visitor that I introduced to Nature Journaling looked very sad.  I asked him why and he explained that he had been traveling and camping all over the country his whole life.  He wished so desperately that he would have been recording his experiences along the way.  I said that I wasn't too late - and he was bound and determined  to get started!

Below are some of the samples from my journaling at Echo Bluff and Current River State Parks.  This is not considered 'fine art.'  Instead, it is a loser style.
