I thought I knew quite a bit about birds until I met my husband Aaron!  He has taught me so much about birds - it is the gift that keeps on giving!

Our first dates included a wide variety of birding expeditions.   I will never forget the time that he took me to a stretch of the KATY Trail State Park to find ONE specific bird called a Painted Bunting.  They don't normally live in this particular part of Missouri, but by gosh by golly, within minutes of parking, Aaron found this tiny, colorful bird in a sea of trees.  I was surprised beyond words. . .

Years later, birds are still 'our thing.'   We have spent countless hours of volunteer time educating the public about bird conservation, we have completed countless numbers of bird surveys (in ALL types of weather) to contribute to bird data for scientific tracking and research, and  let's just say we have donated significant sums of money to preserve bird  habitat and help endangered birds.

Now, to be able to paint birds - wow - I am ecstatic!  I am so grateful to God that He has allowed me to create from His creation.  All praise, honor, and glory to the Ultimate Creator!
