Journaling in Washington State and Olympic National Park

May 2016

What a blessing it was for Aaron and I to explore Washington State!  I journaled through the whole event.  I captured discoveries and special moments of the natural world all along the way.

What is the difference between fine art and journaling?  Journaling is a  looser form of art (complete with scratch outs and rain spots!) compared to fine art completed in the studio.

My travel journals are absolute treasures to me, and I can refer back to them and enjoy them for years to come.  I can open a page in a journal, and it takes me right back to that day, that time, that place, that experience, that moment - it's as if I can relive the experience all over again. . .

Enjoy my adventures in Washington State!

I glued a pocket in my journal to house our Washington birding list.
Every time we saw a new species, we underlined it on our birding list.  95 species is quite a few!!!
I still cannot believe how much this little guy looks like our Carolina Wren in Missouri, but wow do they sound different!
The tribal connection to the wildlife brought tears to my eyes.  Wow!  See Chinook paragraph above.
I visited this guy and his friends at least 5 times!  I've never been able to view them so closely!
